The unit has an optical module (12) comprising a reflector (13), a dispersion disc (14) and an incandescent light (15) which fits into a dished housing (10) made of resilient plastics. The housing has a sprung section (24) on two opposing sides with an inwardly projecting nose (26) which latches behind a knob formed on the outside of the reflector. The outside of each sprung section has a socket (27) into which a screwdriver can be fitted to allow the nose to be released, for removal of the optical module (12). Alternatively a separate spring tongue may be fitted into the housing on either side defining the latch nose and the release socket.
