<p>A backing canvas is glued to the back of a fibre batt which has been needled to produce a pile surface, and pref. prior to a needling a protective sheet (e.g. paper, plastic) is included in the batt to prevent ungration of the adhesive through to the pile surface. Pref. the adhesive is of sufficiently high viscosity to prevent is seeping through the holes in the protective sheet caused by needling. The necessity of using a clear adhesive, and of accurately controlling the application of the adhesive is eliminated.</p> |
