<p>Process for the arc welding of hollow cylindrical bodies enables bodies with a small internal diameter to be welded without difficulty. The apparatus consists of a beam passing through the body and carried on two chariots on either side of the body one of which can be driven at a speed corresponding to the welding speed. The beam carries the welding wire and the protective gas to the point where the welding takes place, and consists of a tube through which the welding wire and the gas supply tube can pass. The inside of the tube can be cooled by water. The body is turned through a fixed angle after each weld has been completed to form the next weld.</p> |
