Electronic musical instrument having at least a channel carrying an electrical signal for generating long reverberating sounds, wherein each of at least a number of the said channels comprises an automatic volume control device (7) under control of a control signal (4) having a time dependent characteristic similar to that of the envelope of the controlled electrical signal (1) in the channel itself, said volume control device (7) adjusting in a frequency dependent way the transfer function of the channel, a relatively low amplitude control signal favouring the significant parts of the transfer function in the frequency band where the sense of hearing is nominally most acute above the frequency band or bands where the sense of hearing is nominally feeble. |
