<p>The gearchange control for a utility vehicle has a solenoid valve to control the servo brakes for the epicyclic gears, with a time delay to ensure that the brakes have sufficient time to grip before the torque is applied. The gearchange operates with pressure control valves. The time delay is especially useful for reciprocal driving, such as for front loaders, when switching from forward to reverse allows the gearchange components time to stabilise before applying reverse thrust. The system is intended to reduce wear and fuel consumption.</p> |
