<p>Workpieces leaving the furnace drop through an opening into a heated bath, e.g. a molten salt bath. In the bottom of the bath is a conveyor, which lifts the workpieces out of the bath so they next travel through a current of heated air which passes through the molten bath. The times that the workpieces spend in the bath and in the hot air produce a complete transformation of the structure of the pieces. In one pref. plant, both a salt bath and hot air channel are fitted with wheels located on rails, so they may rapidly be replaced by similar units contg. another molten salt for a different isothermal treatment.</p> |
