Position sensing track connection - has printed circuit board fixed in sensing body using inductive or capacitive effect

The inductive or capacitive arrangement for measuring relative positions of two objects moving w.r.t. each other contains a, pref. multiple section, reference body with conducting tracks and a, pref. multiple position, sensing body (8) with conducting tracks (9a). It employs more reliable winding connections than do conventional arrangements, resulting in simplified assembly and reduced production costs. The sensing body conducting track connectors (9,10) project into a circular aperture (11) in the sensing body carrier (8) and are electrically and mechanically connected together via a printed circuit board (12). The connecting board (12) is a double-sided circuit board drilled to accept balancing resistors and for other components. It provides connections to external cables. The circular aperture is made with a step drill. The circuit board is permanently fixed after assembly.
