Novel 5,11-dihydro-6H-pyrido-[2,3-b][1,4]-benzodiazepine-6-ones of the formula <IMAGE> I wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, straight and branched chain, mono and poly unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon of 3 to 20 carbon atoms, phenyl alkyl of 1 to 4 alkyl carbon atoms and cinnamyl, R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, methyl and ethyl and A is straight or branched chain alkylene of 2 to 5 carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having ulcer inhibiting and secretion inhibiting activity and a novel process for their preparation. |
