Solderless connection pin for circuit board - has square ends and central cylindrical section with impressed U=shape that fits into hole

The connection pin has a square cross section and a cylindrical centre section (2). The centre section has a U-shaped impressed on it and fits into a hole in the circuit board making contact with a conducting path on the board. The ends of the U-arms are sharp. The pin may be supported by an insulating terminal strip. The outer radius of the cylindrical section is less than the depth and width of the trough (3) of the U. The length of the cylindrical section is at least 25 per cent greater than the thickness of the circuit board. The square ends of the pin has a side of 1mm and the trough (3) is 0.9 mm deep and 0.8mm wide.
