Turbo compressor for an internal combustion engine

The turbo compressor comprises a turbine (G) set in motion by the exhaust gases (E) of the engine and driving a compressor (F). An additional transmission (D) is keyed onto the same shaft (M) of the turbo compressor. The shaft (M) stops being driven by the additional transmission (D) when the exhaust gases (E) drive the turbine (G) as well as the shaft (M) and consequently the compressor (F) faster than the transmission (D), this being by the effect of the freewheel (J). This additional transmission (D) has the advantage of eliminating the effect of it freewheeling at low engine speeds. <IMAGE>
