PURPOSE:To obtain stable press connection by folding back signal lines and earth lines in U shapes at a position where an insulating material of a flat cable is peeled and then making them attach to a locator and inserting a contact into the attached part to be held by a pair of metallic long protruding strip. CONSTITUTION:An insulation coated end part of a flat cable 11, in which a plurality of signal lines 12 and earth lines 13 are regularly disposed, is peeled and it is inserted into U-shaped insertion grooves 27, 28 of a locator 25 made of an insulating material. The locator 25 with the signal line insertion groove 27 is inserted into a U-shaped contact part of a signal contact 22 which has a pair of long protruded strips 22a made of metallic springs, so that the signal line 12 is held between the locator 25 and the spring protruding strip 22a. Further an earthing contact 23 is earthed with an earthing terminal 29 which is held by small protruding strips 23b in the contact. Connection of the signal lines and the earth line is rendered possible by spring elasticity of a pair of the protruding strips of the respective contacts, so that stable and exact connection can be performed with its working being facilitated. |
