The tyre comprises axially spaced-apart beads (2), a tread strip (4) with aggressive moulding, consisting of transverse bars (9) spaced apart circumferentially, of a width (B) equal to or greater than the spacing (A) of the beads and a reinforcing ply (8) hooping the top of the carcase (6) of the tyre over a width (L) more or less equal to the spacing (A) of the beads. The top (3) of the tyre has an accentuated transverse curature such that the top, under the ply (8) forms a radial deflection (a) equal to or greater than 1/5 of the height (H) of the cross-section of the tyre, the flanks (5) of the tyre being reinforced from the beads (2) as far as at least half the height of the cross-section of the tyre so that the bending of the tyre under load is mainly localised to the zone of the top of the tyre. <IMAGE> |
