<p>The alloy has high fatigue strength at elevated temps. and good bonding strength to steel; the compsn. is 5-10%, 2-5% Cd, 0.1-1% As, 0.1-0.8% Ni, 0.1-0.5% Co, 0.1-0.5% Cr, 0.01-0.1% B, 0.1-0.5% Zn, 0.01-0.5% P, the rest being tin and trace impurities. The pref. alloy contains 7.1-7.9% Sn, 2.5-3.5% Cu, 0.5-1.2% Cd, 0.2-0.4% As, 0.1-0.2% Ni, 0.2-0.4% Co, 0.25-0.4% Cr, 0.02-0.08% B, 0.1-0.2% Zn, 0.08-0.1% P; and the alloy is used esp. for bearings subjected to high pulsating stresses at high temps. Conventional alloys contain Sb, Cu, Cd, Cr and Co for grain refinement, but the addn. of B and Zn causes further grain refinement, and therefore superior properties.</p> |
