1279791 3<SP>1</SP> - Trifluoromethyl - 1 - phenyl - 2- methylpropanol UGINE KUHLMANN 6 Jan 1971 [7 Jan 1970] 553/71 Heading C2C 3<SP>1 </SP>- Trifluoromethyl - 1 - phenyl - 2 - methyl- 1-propanol, may be obtained (a) by condensing the Mg compound of a 3-halo-trifluoromethylbenzene with isobutyraldehyde and hydrolysing the product, or (b) by condensing the Mg compound of 2-bromo-propane with 3-trifluoromethylbenzaldehyde and hydrolysing the product. Pharmaceutical composition, having a choleretic and anti-convulsant action, comprises the above novel compound together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, preferably in the form of gelatine-coated pills. |
