The invention provides rolling element bearings for roller conveyors. The bearings fit into the ends of hollow sleeve bodies to define the rollers of the conveyor. The bearings are designed to prevent the ingress of water through the bearings into the interior of the sleeve bodies, because collection of liquid in these bodies is unhygienic in food factory applications. The bearing 18 includes a labyrinth seal 30 which limits inflow of liquid into the bearing and also allows outflow of that liquid from the bearing to prevent accumulation of liquid in the bearing. Further seals are provided by ring 44 engaging a shaft, and by lip seal 42 engaging flange 40. Except for stainless steel balls 34 and rubber ring 44 the assembly is of plastics material. Dimensions X and Y are preferably between 1.7 and 2.3 mm, when diameter of ring 52 is of the order of 47 mm. <IMAGE>
