The ski body (1) possesses a metal edge (5) only on one long side. On the long side opposite to the metal edge, the running surface (4) is upwardly curved and extended upwards at the sides. The diameter of the curvature approximately corresponds to the greatest thickness of the ski, which greatest thickness is located in the central region thereof. In order to form the curved running surface (6), an edge part (8) of the ski is bent upwards about an axis extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ski. In a pair of skis, the metal edges are on the inside and the bent edge parts on the outside. With skis of this design, the skier is forced in each case to place the load on the downhill ski and not the uphill ski. The curved running surface facilitates the correct guiding of the uphill ski, as a result of which the risk of accident is much reduced and changes of direction can be more easily executed. <IMAGE>
