In this process, the rheological properties of bitumen and bituminous compositions are modified by adding compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R<1> is H, an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having up to 8 carbon atoms, or a COOH or NH2 radical, R<2> is an aromatic or cylcoaliphatic carbon radical, R<3> is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, R<4> is H, an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having up to 4 carbon atoms, an -R<5>NH2 radical or an -R<5>-NH-CO-R<2>-R<1> radical, where R<5> is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, x is 0 or 1. The compounds, for example N-(1-aminoethylpiperazino)-p-tert-butylbenzomide, N,N-(1,4-bis-(3-aminopropyl)piperazino)-4-n-butylcyclohexanecarbox-ami de and N-(4-methylpiperazino)methylhexahydrophthalamide, are added to the starting composition in an amount of 0.1 to 5 % by weight. The additives for achieving certain rheological properties can be determined for selected starting compositions by experiments. |
