<p>In an automotive power train using a manually shiftable transmission unit and an automatically controlled clutch unit, the clutch unit is operated by a pneumatic actuator device powered from the fuel intake manifold under electromagnetic control. This electromagnetic control includes electric switch apparatus comprising a gear lever mounted stroke switch assembly (71) comprising a parallel connected combination of first and second switches to be closed in response to the movement of a transmission gearshift lever in different directions opposite to each other e.g. to select 1st, 3rd, park or 2nd, 4th, reverse and a knob switch assembly (34) including a parallel connected combination of third and fourth switches to be opened in response to the movement by rotation relative to the gearlever of a gearshift knob in opposite directions. These switches are controlled in accordance with predetermined schedules to energize a valve operating solenoid 107d. <IMAGE></p> |
