1357397 Non-aqueous cell with lithium anode SOC DES ACCUMULATEURS FIXES ET DE TRACTION 28 Oct 1971 [29 Oct 1970 14 Jan 1971 29 April 19 71] 50266/71 Heading H1B An electric cell having a non-aqueous electrolyte has a lithium anode 14 on a steel grid 15, and a cathode 12 comprising 99% argentous chromate and/or lead chromate and 1 % carbon black. A separator 16 comprises polypropylene fibres in contact with the cathode 12 and cellulosic fibres in contact with the anode 14. Cell bottom 10 and cover 11, of nickel-plated steel, are sealed together and electrically insulated by a gasket 17. The electrolyte is lithium perchlorate dissolved in solvents of tetrahydrofuran, propylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, methyl formate or dimethoxyethane or certain mixtures thereof. Argentous and lead chromates are stated to be insoluble in such solutions. |
