A sieve, particularly for use in a centrifuge, comprises bars 1 which are connected by resilient elements 5 passing through recesses (e.g. holes or slots) at the ends of the bars. The bars are of a wear-resistant material such as metal ceramics or sintered metal. Resilient elements 5 are of metal, plastics or an elastomeric material. Spacing elements may be provided between adjacent bars. The bars taper downwardly to prevent solids blocking the sieve.
