PURPOSE:To improve the heating effect of, intake-air by fixing a heating means in the form of a thin plate in the intake pipe of the internal combustion engine, in the manner that some clearance is formed between the heating means and the inner wall surface of the intake pipe. CONSTITUTION:A hollow support 16 formed with a thru-hole 19 is fitted in the bottom wall 7 of an intake manifold 2. In the thru-hold 19, there is inserted a shaft portion 23 of the main body 9 of the heating means. The main body 9 consists of an upper plate 22 and a lower plate 21, and PTC elements 28, 29 having a positive temperature coefficient are disposed between the above two plates 21 and 22 in two layers. Here, the two plates 21, 22 are disposed such that they are projected into manifold 2, and the upper plate 22 is placed at a position where mixture flowing downward from the above collides thereto, so that the mixture can be heated promptly. |
