PURPOSE:To increase operability and safety by giving an elevating motion to a cylinder and thereby opening a cover body automatically. CONSTITUTION:When a metal mold 2 comes under an automatic cover-opening device 12 for the metal mold, a cylinder 8 is pushed out and the front end part thereof is lowered with the rear end part as the supporting point therefor. When a hook 11 fitted to the front end part reaches the position of the catch 2b of the metal mole 2, the cylinder 8 stops lowering. The front end part is elevated with its axial point as a supporting point, thereby engaging the hook 11 with the catch 2b of the metal mold 2, and further a cover body 2a is speedily opened from a lower die 2c by the elevation of the cylinder 8. The front end part of the cylinder 8 stops elevating at the position where the hook 11 is apart from the catch 2b. When the hook 11 is separated from the catch 2b, the cover body 2a falls down in the horizontal direction at a right angle to the advancing direction of the metal mold 2 by the force of inertia accompanying the opening operation and by its own weight and is released completely. |
