1526342 Lubricating and hydraulic oil BASF AG 28 Jan 1976 [29 Jan 1975] 03258/76 Heading C5F A lubricating or hydraulic oil based on mineral oil or an additive concentrate therefor comprises: (a) a polybutadiene of intrinsic viscosity (in benzene at 50‹ C.) from 0À1 to 0À8 and a substantially uniform cis-1,4 structure, (b) a mononuclear or binuclear hindered alkylphenol, and (c) a secondary aromatic amine. The phrase "substantially uniform cis-1,4 structure" is defined as meaning not more than 5% of its double bonds in the form of vinyl groups, and not less than 70% of its double bonds in cisconfiguration. The polymer raises viscosity index, but is susceptible to oxidation; the phenol and amine are antioxidants. |
