In the warping machine, an adjustable warping cone (2) is seated, together with a cylindrical part (1), on a common shaft (3). The warping cone (2) consists of a multiplicity of cone blades (12) which can be set out and which, at a medium setting-out height relative to the envelope (9), have a width, measured in the circumferential direction, which, together with the setting-out height, results in an approximately circular polygon. The width of each cone blade (12) is smaller at the inner end than at the outer end. Furthermore, the cone blades are designed so that each generatrix of the warping cone (2) has an inwardly directed kink relative to the envelope (9). This results in a warping machine, of which the conditions on the adjustable warping cone correspond to those on the fixed cone, whilst a non-creeping starting point is achieved here at each setting-out height of the cone blades. <IMAGE>
