<p>The beam deflecting arrangement comprises two optical elements (100,200) matched to each other. The adjacent surfaces (120,220) of the elements have ribs of even pitch. Light rays (R) coming from the reflector behind the lioht source strike the surface (110) of the inner element with equal incident angles. In the normal beam position the ribs are in line, the convex curvature of one element coinciding with the concave curvature of the other. In the dipped position the elements are displaced by a fraction of the rib pitch to produce constant deflection (d) of the rays (R) leaving the outer element. The method deflects the aiming point of the whole beam without undue loss of intensity.</p> |
