<p>Appts for producing gas, partic, hydrogen, by electrolysis under press comprises an electrolyser in an enclosure contg a gas under press., a circuit feeding electrolyte from the exterior and hydrogen and oxygen extn. chains, Each chain includes a degasser receiving the gas-electrolyte emulsion from the electrolyser and returning the electrolyte to the feed circuit. Appts includes means of control designed to maintain in the electrolyser a press at a fixed level below the pressure in the enclosure. The means comprise a tank placed at a lower level than the electrolyser, occupied partly by electrolyte and partly by an atmos connected to the enclosure; pipes connected to the degassers and dipping into the electrolyte in the tank; and means of regulating the press in the degassers to maintain the difference in level between the free surfaces in the pipes and the tank at a fixed value. The means of regulating the pressure are simpler, more reliable, more precise and more sensitive than in existing installations.</p> |
