<p>Centrifugal moulding machine is for mfg. hollow confectionery prods. such as Easter eggs. Quantity of molten chocolate etc. is enclosed in the cavity of a two-part mould. Mould is then spun in different directions to form a shell of chocolate inside the mould. Machine comprises a base plate carrying bearings for a shaft which is motor-driven at one end while the other end is fitted with a coaxial wheel to which moulds can be attached. Each mould is attached to a rotary spindle which extends radially from the wheel, i.e. at right angles to the wheel axis. The outer end of the spindle is adapted to carry a removable mould. The inner end of the spindle is fitted with a coaxial, toothed gear which meshes with a fixed gear coaxial with the wheel shaft. Rotation of the wheel thus provides a positive, geared drive to the spindle(s). The base plate is pref. supported on resilient mountings. A powered, vibrator unit shakes the plate and hence the mould(s). The outer end of each spindle pref. has magnets to grip mould halves. The machine pref. includes a fan to blow cooling air across the moulds.</p> |
