Groom's brush with bristles set in pockets - opt. mounted in expanded polyurethane on polyethylene handle

A brush with bunches of bristles supported in a convex flexible membrane mounted on a rigid handle and backed by a pneumatic cushion is made so that the roots of the bunches of bristles are each held in a short blind pocket, to limit the depth to which the bristles can be forced into the head of the brush. Suitable for brushes for grooming horses, etc., requiring a combination of firm bristles and sufficient flexibility to follow the skin contours. Alternatively, the pockets may be set in a relatively thick pad of flexible expanded polyurethane foam mounted on a handle of injection moulded polyethylene. The roots of the bunches of bristles may be fixed by use of clips, staples or adhesives.
