<p>Heat exchanger tubes are cleaned of dust, soot etc., by a rammer, which is reciprocated by a carriage mounted on tracks outside exchanger vessel. The head is of flattened cross-section, mounted at the end of a shaft, which may be turned about its longitudinal axis against a counterweight. Pref. the head is of elliptical polygonal, square or hexagonal cross-section. Used to clean tubes of heaters, regenerators, superheaters or economisers, being efficient even if tubes are buckled in use.</p> |
