<p>The compns. consist of a mixture of particles of two types (1) epoxy resin particles with the usual hardener situated substantially on the surface and (2) epoxy resin particles of normal type with the hardener dispersed through the material. Preferred ratios of the two types are from 30:70 to 80:20. depending on the strength of the matt effect required. The powders are suitable for matt coating of metal articles, esp. by electrostatic deposition, followed by heating to sinter the deposit into a homogeneous coat. Addition of matting additives is avoided, and the coatings have the same excellent chemical resistance and durability as glossy epoxide coatings.</p> |
