<p>A barrage for preventing the extension and dispersion in the sea of layers of polluting materials, partic layers of petroleum, comprises a number of floats of elongated form connectable to one another so as to constitute a barrage. A flexible continuous undersea sheet is suspended from the floats. Pumping-out gear connectable to pumps is pref attached to the floats. A pref method of using the barrages consists of putting two identical barriers in place according to a closed perimeter of circular form and exerting a traction at two diametrically opposite points of the system while actuating the pumping-out gear. The barrage forming a screen in depth against the polluting material is more effective than existing systems. Pumping out of the layer on the surface is facilitated within a perimeter where the device stabilises it.</p> |
