1335907 Shaft couplings BURMEISTER & WAINS MOTOR-OG MASKINFABRIK AF 1971 AS 19 April 1971 [18 March 1970] 24570/71 Heading F2U An annular portion 2 of a member 1 on one shaft surrounds a portion 4 of a member 6 on another coaxial shaft, both portions having recesses 12, 13 facing the other portion and arranged so that when aligned, pairs of recesses form conical cavities to receive conical bolts 11 movable axially into and out of engagement with the recesses and connected to an hydraulic cylinder and piston 16. The bolts 11 may be rigid with an axially slidable ring 7 housing the cylinders, the pistons 16 having screwed connections 19 to another ring 8, both rings having stops, as at 28, to limit their extension. There may be eight bolts 11 equally spaced circumferentially between which may be four compression coil springs (34) Fig. 5 (not shown) and four buffers with Belleville springs (31) Fig. 4 (not shown). When the bolts are in the engaged positions, they may be held there by internally threaded nuts 22 being screwed on to threads 21 on the pistons 16. |
