The decorative wooden panel for a wall or ceiling is built up from four smaller panels. Each small panel has a square raised surface with a flat rebated border on two adjacent sides. The edges of the border form thin tongues which match grooves formed on the edges of the raised surface. These features enable groups of four small panels to be fitted together to form a large panel. A moulded border is then fitted over the rebated surface and extends around the perimeter of the composite panel.
