The operation is simplified as compared with that for a standard draw cord system, while construction is less expensive than that for gearing or motor drive, on a venetian blind with adjustable lamellae. Drawing up lamellae is effected by a winding tube, with helical spring drive. The tube, serving as the spring shaft, can be used alone, or in conjunction with a top rail. Winding spools, or other guides for strips, may be fitted for improved draw cord guidance. The spiral spring force can be directly transmitted to the spool or rollers. This combines the simplicity of the spring roller blind with the advantages of regulated protection from sun and glare.
