The laying-in bars of a crochet machine are operated by independent shogging mechanisms each comprising a bell-crank lever, one end of which is connected to the laying-in bar, the other end being connected to a rotating disc by a movable link which engages a diametral slot in the disc, and can be clamped in any position therein to vary the throw of the link from zero up to the full radius of the disc. The discs are mounted on individual shafts each having a drive pulley, which are driven synchronously by a common timing belt drive from a single driving pulley. The amplitudes and timings of the motions of the laying-in bars can be adjusted independently, giving the machine a versatile design capability.
|
