Belt guard for sewing-machine - has cover enclosing pulley with adjustable hood to accommodate different belt lengths

The belt guard comprises a cover (17) which encloses a pulley (14) on the take-off side of a drive, and a hood (23) fitted to the cover. This is adjusted in a direction at right angles to the axis of the pulley. The adjustable hood makes it possible to adapt the guard to accommodate different belt lengths. The hood may telescope on the cover and be clamped by a nut (27). The assembly is clamped to a motor housing by a screw (4). The hood may be adjusted in height to fit the underside of a sewing machine table or provided at its upper end with a two- part belt running guard (31,32).
