The flexible hose is for free-flowing media, particularly water, and has stranded reinforcing threads embedded in the walls, intersecting and running in a spiral path in relation to the longitudinal axis of the hose. Threads stranded with a twist both to the left (2) and to the right (1) are used, and they can be employed in equal numbers. Those wound in a clockwise spiral round the hose can be stranded in the opposite way to those in an anti-clockwise spiral, and they can be interwoven, i.e. pass alternately above and below each other.
