The bullet-proof helmet has a rigid inner helmet with inner padding as necessary and covered by armour on the outside. The armour comprises small individual plates (4) joined together and movable in relation to each other for a limited amount, and is supported by the inner helmet (1) air cushions (5) sealed on all sides. The cushions can be formed by air-tight layers of textile or sheet material, joined together along sealed so as to form air chambers. The cushions can be tubular, spaced round the inner helmet and running from the crown to the edge.
