<p>The trailer has a height control suspension which allows the load surface to be dropped to the ground for load transfer. The control has two hydraulic rams (23) which operate on the torsion axles to swing the trailing arms and lower the suspension. Safety catches secure the rams in the raised, extended position. The safety catches are released by a remote control to allow the rams to compress at a controlled rate to the selected height. The catches are mounted on support forks for the rams and drop into place under spring pressure when the rams are extended. This ensures a safe road operation.</p> |
