The temp. converter comprises a pipe coil for a cold medium (1), a coil for a hot one (5), a compressor (2) and a throttle (6). The hot medium pipe coil is partly enclosed by a tubular boiler, which can have a number of inner tubes (7). The coil for the cold medium can be partly enclosed by a condenser (8). The compressor can be driven by an electric motor, or by a steam operated piston, a detachable clutch being mounted between the latter and the compressor. If an electric motor is used, it is supplied from an accumulator battery.
