<p>The plastic seal is for use between two solid bodies to be joined together, having a flat portion fitting between them. The flat portion is corrugated in the transverse direction on one or both sides, the corrugated part at least being of plastic, and curving at a steady radius (p) where it bears against the bodies. There are two or more such corrugations one behind the other in the sealing direction (D). Seen in the latter direction, the flat portion is of a width such as not to extend into the chamber under pressure or vacuum when under load.</p> |
