PURPOSE:To produce a random copolymer having a less lowered m.p. and less lowered mechanical properties and being easily subjected to a variety of modifications, by prepolymerizing propylene alone and thereafter random-copolymerizing the prepolymerized propylene with a branched 1,4-diene. CONSTITUTION:Titled copolymer having C=C bonds in pendant groups, is prepared by prepolymerizing propylene alone at 0-100 deg.C and at normal pressure -20kg/cm<2> for 30sec-60min, thereafter introducing, under pressure, into the prepolymerized propylene, a branched 1,4-diene represented by the formula, wherein R<2> and R<3> are H or alkyl of up to 8 C, provided that R<2> and R<3> can not be hydrogen at the same time, such as 4-methyl-1,4-hexadiene, and random-copolymerizing the mixture at 0-200 deg.C and at normal pressure -100kg/cm<2>. USE:By the modification of said copolymer, for example, by the addition to the C=C bonds, the properties thereof, such as adhesiveness, coatability and printability can be improved. |
