<p>The battery terminal slides over a terminal post and has axial slits. A clamp ring, in the form of a nut, compresses the contact sleeve over the terminal post, and also seals the bottom of the sleeve onto the insulation at the base of the terminal post. The terminal sleeve (3) has a slightly conical bore, with a number of axial slits (7), instead of a cylindrical bore. This makes it suitable for use on the terminal posts of standard motor vehicle batteries. A clamping nut (6) compresses the sleeve into the terminal post (1). An extension of the nut (8) makes a seal with the insulation boss (20) at the base of the post.</p> |
