The relay used between heavy-current control and operating circuits, has a signal source coupled in the control circuit and a signal receiver in the operating circuit, connected to the gate electrode of a switching thyristor (V1). The source and receiver may comprise primary and secondary windings of an inductive transformer (U) or a photoelement amd a photodetector. The thyristor (V1) is fired directly from the coupling logic via the inductive transformer (U) and is disconnected via an auxiliary contact (K1) of a switching device (Q1).
