The carving copying machine has a tool station travelling sideways and with a supporting shaft for the pivoting tool support and pattern feeler and also for the counterweight shaft. Supporting shaft, tool support and weight shaft are coupled together by levers. The weight shaft is movable at right angles to its axis to alter its distance from the supporting shaft. The two levers pivoting on an axis at right angles to that of the supporting shaft and from which the tool support is suspended have extensions towards the weight shaft and which are attached to links hinging on the weight shaft and at right angles to it.
