The do-it-yourself wall or ceiling covering equipment comprises two or more bar-shaped or tubular supports (1), secured by supporting blocks (2) to wall or ceiling. A number of thin oblong strips with edges bent over towards one side are secured by suspension clips snapping over the edges of adjacent ones. The lengthwise axes of the supports inter-sect those of the clip snap portions. Each support can be secured to its block by a stirrup (14) fitting over it and with flanges (15) sliding into openings in the block.
