The thermometer has a releasable connector linking a display to a sensing probe with an elongate support carrying non-self-supporting thin thermocouple wires. These end in a junction at the support end between bared wire ends suspended spaced from the support for direct contact with a patient. The junction is in a gap free from contact with any solid. The support may be a hollow thin-walled plastics cylinder, or may be spatulate and may be of foam with non-interconnected cavities. The connector pref. has contacts of the same material as the wires, with like wires and contacts being aligned. |
