The floor sweeper has a roller brush inside a housing crosswise to the direction of travel. The dirt collector can be removed upwards at one side only and is sealed right up to the opening through which the dirt is thrown. The floor sweeper is driven at both ends by a wheel. The housing has an opening stretching from the top to the bottom, and, on its underneath side, has a metal plate which seals it and to which the dirt collector is detachably fixed.
