The package for a liq. product is made from a carton support material coated with plastics in the form of a polygonal folding box. It has a liq. tight weld and fitted with a tear-open opening. The upper wall (2) of the liq. pack has a plastics strip (16) projecting outwards which is welded to the carton support material in the area of the opening device (12). The strip is made from non-stretchable easily tearable material and extends in the direction of the tear open device, so that the sections of the strip projecting outwards are welded to each other.
