An animated advertising display for producing an animated image by the superposition of at least three sheets or folded sections of the same sheet, having opaque zones and transparent zones. It comprises a housing 2 and a mechanism making it possible to space apart more or less the three sheets assembled in twos, so as to constitute a bellows of the accordion bellows type. Lamps 28 permit the lateral illumination of the sheets suspended in vertical position in the housing. The mechanism comprises two micro motors 12 and 13 which respectively drive cams 20, 21 and 22, 23, the aim of which is alternately to space apart and bring together the branches of springs engaged in profiles 34 and 36 which retain the vertical edges of the sheets. <IMAGE>
